Furzeleigh House

An idyllic stay on the edge of Devon

About Furzeleigh House

A Visit to Remember

Furzeleigh House sits on a gentle sloping hill overlooking a beautiful Devonshire countryside valley. The house has strong connections to the nearby ruins of Newnham Abbey and Baron de Mohun, the Abbey's founder.

Originally called Furslegh, being part of Furzeleigh Grange, the name has been adapted over the years to become Furzeleigh House.

Furzeleigh House has been owned by several notable persons including Abbot de Geytyngton, Lord John Howard, John Drake of Ash and Amos Liddon of Kilmington. It's currently owned and run by Amey and David Cull, who purchased the estate in 2019.

Within the 35 acres of woodland and pasture, that make up the grounds of Furzeleigh House, are three holiday cottages; Pyrford, Wyfold and Byron. These quaint rustic cottages offer a comfortable rural retreat.
